Verl “Spider” K. Pitzer, 86 passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at home in Moore, Oklahoma.

Spider was born on October 3, 1930 to the late James Pitzer and Lucille Porter Pitzer in Phillipsburg, Ohio.

Spider attended Bowling Green University, majored in History, and taught school in Dayton, Ohio. In 1953 he joined the US Marine Corps and was stationed in Laguna Beach, California. Spider married Peggy Blair Pitzer on November 19, 1960 in Anaheim, California.

Spider is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Peggy; daughter, Timilynn Pickard (David) and grandchildren, Ashley and David IV; daughter, Traci Roach (Dale) and grandchildren, Holli, Troy, Brooke, and Rylee; two great-grandchildren, Bella and Camden; one great-grandchild on the way.

Services will be held in Levelland, TX on Friday, August 18, 2017; Spider will be laid to rest in City of Levelland Cemetery.
