Tywila Beth (Edwards) Leemhuis, AKA Sharon Williams, 79, of Anadarko, OK passed from this life on June 18, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Visitation will begin at 1:00p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018 at First Caddo Baptist Church with a wake service to follow at 7:00p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00am, Friday, June 22, 2018, also at First Caddo Baptist Church, with a meal to follow.
Tywila was born January 29, 1939 in Lawton, OK to the late Margaret Emma Coats Williams and the late Francis Williams and was also a member of the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma and a descendant of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Lee Leemhuis, Sr.; son, Stephen Leroy Leemhuis; granddaughter, Shavonne Rae Leemhuis; grandson, Thomas Ray Leemhuis; and great-grandsons, Lorenzo Patrick Leemhuis and Julian Antonio Davila, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Harold Williams, Eula Faye Williams Medina, Ina Marie “Buelah” Williams, and Paul Gibson Williams; and her late sister’s son, Melvin James “Jody” Stevens, who she helped raise.
Tywila enjoyed being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they brightened her day. She loved to teach them Caddo songs. She was also active in church and was a member of the First Caddo Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and enjoyed bible studies. At one point, she taught bible studies at Indian Capital Baptist Church. Other hobbies included sewing, reading, and watching her NCIS and Law and Order SUV t.v. shows.
She leaves behind her children, Patricia Arlene Leemhuis, Teresa Eilene Leemhuis, and Sherman Lee Leemhuis, Jr.; grandchildren, Stephanie Marie Leemhuis, Renee Ann Whitehorn-Lunsford, Paul Dean Whitehorn, Jr., Yvonne Nicole Roughface Renteria, Rosah Chioyet Roughface Davila, Sheila Desiree Roughface Cruz, Gilbert Russell Leemhuis, Jaime Zatarain, Jr., Raquel Keturah Leemhuis Zatarain, Lizbeth Antonia Leemhuis Zuniga, Nikolas Antonio Charqueno, Sophia Lauren Charqueno, Steven John Leemhuis, Sherman Lee Leemhuis III, Sharon Lee Leemhuis, Helena Nicole Leemhuis, and Patricia Tomei Leemhuis; she is also survived by 32 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving extended family and friends.
