Thomas F Maher

Thomas Francis Maher passed away from heart failure at 83 years old in Norman, OK, where he had moved recently with his wife to be close to his daughter and granddaughter. He was born in St. Louis, MO. He received his MSW and JD from St. Louis University and was Professor at the University of Louisville. His children were born in St. Louis, and he lived in Paoli, Indiana and Cambridge, England briefly before settling down in Louisville, KY. He demonstrated a lifetime of commitment to social justice issues and always engaged in hearty debate on political topics and social issues. He was an avid reader, proud athlete, and dedicated cyclist later in life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Allison Lewis Maher, his two daughters, Erin Maher and Megan Maher, and his granddaughter, Hadley Maher.
Thomas has been cremated and a memorial service is being planned at a later date.
