Terry Dudley

Terry Len DUDLEY – born February 2, 1952, in Norman, Oklahoma.  The son of Len Robert Dudley and Ruth Finch was the youngest of three children.  He was raised in Norman and attended Norman High School.  Terry married Marva Franks in 1974.  He graduated from Central State University and became a high school teacher and coach in Fort Morgan Colorado.  Terry and Marva moved to Moore where he was a teacher with the Moore school system for thirty-seven years from 1976-2013.  He and Marva had three children, Kyle, Adam, and Julie.  All three graduated from Moore High School where Terry was a teacher.  He enjoyed coaching basketball.  In his second year as the head coach of the Moore High School boy’s basketball team, he took the Lions to the State Championship game.  The team fought valiantly but finished second to rival Norman in overtime.  Terry enjoyed coaching basketball and always liked running into former players.  Terry taught PE and weightlifting and was known for being the PE teacher that required a book report from students that were absent or did not dress out for class.  He enjoyed his time with co-workers at lunch and remained close to the friends he made at Moore High School.  Kyle married Christa and they had triplet grandsons.  He enjoyed watching the boys every Monday night and giving horsey-rides to Connor, Kaleb, and Tyler.  He and Adam took trips to Nascar events and went fishing at Oklahoma lakes.  Terry enjoyed watching Julie play basketball in High School and giving her pointers.  Julie married Kenny in 2019 and nothing was going to stop him from standing up and giving her away.  He enjoyed going with his brother and sister and their families to Colorado for fishing and fun.  He also enjoyed the occasional trip to Las Vegas to meet family. 

Terry was preceded in death by his son, Adam; mother, Ruth; father, Len Robert; father-in-law, Alton Franks, brother-in-law Warren Hurst, and sister-in-law, Christy Coplin.

Terry is survived by his wife, Marva; son, Kyle and wife Christa and grandsons, Connor, Kaleb, and Tyler; daughter Julie Bland and son-in-law Kenny Bland; sister, Wanda Hurst and her son Steve Hurst and her daughter Stephanie and their families; brother, Dan and wife Betsy Dudley and sons Robby, Kenny, and Joseph Dudley and their families; mother-in-law, Loretta Franks.
