Sandy Irene Patterson finished her race and left this life to be with her Heavenly Father on January 17, 2021. She was 70 years of age.
Sandy was born January 2, 1951, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Ethel and Ed McCullough. She was raised in Ponca and met the love of her life when she was in first grade. They never were far apart as their relationship grew through junior high and high school. Her and Ron Patterson were married on January 25, 1969. The Lord entrusted into their care two children, Chuck and Angie.
Sandy was raised on a small farm in Northern Oklahoma. She loved animals, especially horses, and enjoyed barrel racing, trail riding and rodeos as a teenager. Her and Ron made their home in Arkansas City, Kansas where the Lord changed the direction of their entire family, when they personally trusted Christ as their Savior. After going to Bible College, they started a life of serving in ministry at various churches. Sandy was a Pastor’s wife first, but also enjoyed many years of teaching school, Bible classes, and ladies’ ministries. She also enjoyed teaching many practical lessons to her four grandkids, whom she loved and spoiled immensely.
Sandy struggled with a life-altering event when her kidney’s failed, but enjoyed God’s blessing of a live donor kidney transplant from her church pianist, with whom she had a great friendship. This allowed her to enjoy 13 additional years serving her Lord, influencing people for eternity and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ron Patterson; Her son, Chuck and Donna Patterson, and daughter, Angie and Michael Halydier; four grandchildren, Hannah Fleshman, Luke Fleshman, Kyla Patterson, and Caleb Patterson; and many long-time dear Christian friends.
In lieu of condolence flowers, donation may be made in her name to the Missions Fund of Calvary Baptist Church, PO BOX 822, Chickasha, OK 73023.
