Sandra Miller

April 15, 1954 ~ August 3, 2022 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Tribute

Sandra “Sandy” Alene Miller passed on to eternity on August 3rd, 2022.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Debra Madewell, and daughter Amanda Tovar.  She also is survived by her nine grandchildren:  Victoria “Tori”, Ruth “Vivian”, Rachel, Maria “Jayden”, Isabella “Bella”, Nathan, Jose, Analyn, and Lillian “Lilly”.

Sandy was born in Santa Rosa, California to Sammy and Alene Miller.  Sandy grew up a lover of the outdoors with her dad where her and her sister would fish, camp, and just get into trouble.  Sandy moved to Oklahoma and finished high school as a Choctaw Yellowjacket but maintained many connections to her home and family in California.

Sandy had many occupations before she started her work as a “professional street walker” with the United States Postal Service where she retired after more than three decades of service.  When Sandy wasn’t walking the streets, she could be found at Crossroads Cathedral, usually in about the 8th or 9th row, first section, just to the right of the pastor as he was speaking.  Crossroads was one of her favorite places to be where she found a deeper love of Christ and she served through giving of tithes and offering, being a part of the prayer chain, operating the video cameras.  Her favorite thing at Crossroads was being a part of the drama productions where she could dress up as a villager in the first act, and an angel in the second.

Sandy was known for her generosity, love, and more importantly forgiveness for all that she met.  If you ever went out to a lunch or dinner with Sandy, regardless of the group size, you often had to fight her to pay for your own meal.  Sandy was always proud of her broccoli and cheese casserole that she would bring to every family dinner at Christmas and Thanksgiving.

Sandy could bring any group to tears with laughter with her humor and comedic timing.  She loved her family with a deep love and hurt just as deep for each member when they were hurting.  She always wanted to help, always supported if she was able.  There were never any situations that truly upset Sandy.  Even as she was in and out of the hospital, she wanted to make her nurses and doctors smile.

Sandy loved watching and going to the movies with anyone to see anything.  It did not matter the genre or the movie, she loved to get her extra butter popcorn, twizzlers, Pepsi, and whoever wanted to watch with her and go.  Sandy loved to bowl on many different leagues through the years and took her kids along with her to spend quarters in the arcade.

Sandy enjoyed going on vacations with her friends and family.  She travelled to Hawaii and took an Alaskan cruise, visiting two states most Americans never had or ever will.  She fulfilled a dream when she went to Disney World and travelled around the world at Epcot.  Her last vacation she visited Hogwarts and discovered that she was a Gryffindor Lion, brave and courageous.

Sandy was a follower of Christ.  If she were here to tell you one thing, it would be that she loved Jesus with all of her heart and she walked with him daily.  It was her sincere prayer to see all of her family come to know that same relationship with Christ.

Sandy will be missed deeply on Earth by those she left behind.  We look forward to the day we will reunite with her in Heaven.
