Russel Daniel Brett Hanson, age 22, passed away on January 6th, 2021, in Moore, Oklahoma.
Russell is survived by his mother and father, Anne (Libbi) and Tony Evans, of Moore, OK; his siblings, James (Jimmy) Hanson, Lindsey Van Sciver, Melissa and husband Tim Short, David Adam and wife Amy Hanson, Ariel and husband Landry Recla, and John Luke Hanson, of Oklahoma; and his nieces and nephews, James, Dylon, Shea-Lynn, Bryson, Katelyn, Zane, Tristan, with another on the way.
Russell was born on September 23, 1998, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Anne Hanson. He graduated from Moore High School in 2017, and was currently attending school at Oklahoma University.
Russell was an incredibly intelligent, kind young man who treasured his time with the Moore High School and Oklahoma University’s debate teams. He loved music and gaming, and lived to make others laugh. His family and friends will always remember him as a gentle soul, who loved unconditionally. In Russell’s own words: “I know things probably seem hard now, or even seemed hard as it does now, but push through. You aren’t the self-deprecated images of yourself. I wish for you to be successful and not give up. Remember those that stick closest to you. Russell, you are.”
A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday on January 12, 2021, at 3:00PM at Emmaus Baptist Church located at 16001 S Western, OKC. Jim Lehew will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Russell’s life. The family would like to thank Connor Johnson and all of Russ’ coworkers at Jimmy John’s for the support and food that they have provided.
