Rodney Powell Naico of Blanchard, OK was born on July 26, 1960 in Shenandoah, IA to Robert and Betty Naico. He peacefully passed in his home on February 20, 2018 at 57 years of age.

Rodney selflessly served his country and community during his time in the military and civil service. He retired from the United States Air Force as a veteran after 20 years. During his time in the military, he dedicated himself to be a Military Police Officer and AWACS Surveillance Technician. Rodney’s dedication to service took him around the world, to include places such as Hawaii, Germany, North Dakota and multiple tours during Desert Storm to finally settling down in Oklahoma.

Following his military career, Rodney then started to serve his community in law enforcement with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department. During his time with OCSD he served on the drug interdiction unit alongside his K-9 partner, Visum. He also served his community with the Blanchard Police Department alongside his K-9 partner, Denny, Grady County Sheriff’s Department and with his final employment with the U.S. Marshals, serving as a Court Security Officer for the Federal Courthouse.

Rodney had many hobbies to accompany his active career in the military and law enforcement, to include, golf, fishing, softball, music, and time with his family.

Rodney met the love of his life, Cathey, on October 28, 2001 and they were joined in marriage on May 12, 2007. Rodney and Cathey started their family with Rodney’s three daughters, Shana, Tchana, Corianna, two beloved dogs, Chloe and Reiley, and were blessed with twin boys of their own, Carson and Ethan.

He is survived by his wife, Cathey, and their two sons, Carson and Ethan; daughters, Shana Sutton-Bolling of Oklahoma City, Tchana Guerrero and husband Chris of San Antonio, TX, Corianna Naico of Oklahoma City, OK; mother, Betty Naico of Essex, IA; brother, Kevin Naico and wife Kim of Shenandoah, IA; sister, Stacy Nelson and husband Josh of Essex, IA; grandchildren, John, Gavin, Gabriel, Gaige, McKinley, Merrick, Maesyn, Maddox; nieces, Keegan, Kendall, Chelsey, Danielle, Jacie, Caitlin; nephews, Ryan, Dylan, Branson, Kooper, Roper, Wyatt, Langston, and Jesse; In-laws, Cliff and Crystal Widener of Tuttle, OK, Connie Hargues and husband Eddie of Elk City, OK, Callie Troglin of Blanchard, OK, and a multitude of relatives and friends.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Robert Powell Naico; and grandparents, Harry and Lois Naico and Hilbert and Frances Grebert.
