Richard “Dick” Irwin Servati
July 30, 1937 – February 13, 2020

Dick Servati, 82, Moore, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020. He was born July 30, 1937 in North Braddock, Pennsylvania to Alfred Tedesco Servati and Carrie Prosser Servati. He married his childhood sweetheart, literally the girl next door, and the love of his life, Nancy Elizabeth Coleman, on October 27, 1955.

He spent his early years around the Pittsburg, Pennsylvania suburbs and moved to Rochester, New York at 8 years old with his family where he attended Edison Technical and Industrial High School, Rochester, New York. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pastoral Ministries from the Oklahoma Missionary Baptist College and Seminary in Marlow, Oklahoma where he majored in Bible and minored in Biblical languages of Greek and Hebrew.

Dick retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years in 1975, which consisted of stateside tours to Washington, Connecticut, Texas, Oklahoma and overseas tours in South Korea and Italy. In 1962, he felt the call to preach and was ordained on June 28, 1962, by the First Baptist Church of Medicine Park, Oklahoma. His ministry was to small churches in Oklahoma: Medicine Park, Faxon, Cache, Ft. Towson, and Miami and overseas: Vicenza and Verona, Italy. He retired in November 24, 2002, due to illness after 40 years of honoring Jesus.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents and his beloved brothers, Alfred Raphaelle Servati and William “Bill” Greg Servati.

Dick is survived by his wife; daughter, Debra Servati Jones of Texas; two sons, Richard Irwin Servati, Jr. (Beverly) of Alabama and Matthew Scott Servati (Lorrie) of Oklahoma; sister, Mary Begey of Pennsylvania; brother, Griffith Shelly of New York; nine grandchildren, Laura Kennedy Mallet (Kiko Tah) of Oklahoma, Kimberly Jones Blair of Texas, Whitney Jones of New Mexico, Jennifer Drewry of New York, Cassie Cushman of Tennessee, Candace Husmann of Oklahoma, Paul Dysinger of Oklahoma, Vincent Servati of Oklahoma, Nathan Servati of Oklahoma; 16 great-grandchildren, Julian Mallet of Oklahoma, Christopher Tah of Oklahoma, Wesley Tah of Oklahoma, Domonique Tah of Oklahoma, David Wheeler of Oklahoma, Colt Blair of Texas, Cody Blair of Texas, Joshua Drewry of New York, Julianna Drewry of New York, Alexander Cushman of Tennessee, Caitlin Cushman of Tennessee, Adian Cushman of Tennessee, Devon Husmann of Oklahoma, Kairi Husmann of Oklahoma, Patrick Husmann of Oklahoma, Marie Dysinger of Oklahoma; one great-great-grandchild, Takotah Elijah Michael Wheeler of Oklahoma, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He impacted our lives in a way that will be cherished forever. Although his loss has left a void, his spirit lives on in the memories of those he touched.

There will be no visitation or funeral/memorial service as the family had a private ceremony to honor the distinguished life of their precious and very much loved patriarch.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts and memorials be made in Dick’s honor to the Baptist Children’s Home, 16301 S. Western, Oklahoma City, OK 73170.
