Orban Darrell “Van” Vannostran, 77, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away, October 2, 2017 at Meadow Lake Retirement Center.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 6, 2017 at Moore Funeral and Cremation, 400 S.E. 19th Street, Moore, OK 73160. Darryl Meason, Audrey Foutch and Rev. Joseph Sundar Raju Pudota will be officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City. Visitation will be at Moore Funeral and Cremation the evening before from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.


Memorials may be made directly to Fanconi Anemia Research Fund and Alzheimer’s Association.


Orban was born September 1, 1940 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Verlin and Margaret (Taylor) Vannostran. He graduated from Southeast High School in 1959 and from Oklahoma City Community College in 1979. On May 13, 1960 he married the former Peggy Upton. Orban served in the Oklahoma Air National Guard and was a Salesman and an Entrepreneur.


Orban is survived by his three children, Deborah Jean and her husband Bryan Robinson, Darla Dee and her husband Glen Bralley, and David Lee Vannostran and his wife Tracie (Peck) all of Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Jennifer Robinson, Darrell Vannostran, Brandon Robinson, Nicolaus Vannostran, and Kayla Bralley all of Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Paige Burch, Kylie Burch, and Tyler Barney; his brother, Ronald Vannostran and wife Karyl of Houston, TX; niece, Shanda (Vannostran) and her husband Lance Martin; nephew, Greg Vannostran and his wife Michele (Baker).


He was preceded in death by his parents, Verlin and Margaret (Taylor) Vannostran, and his former wife of 51 years, Peggy (Upton) Vannostran in 2014, and his granddaughter, Dianna Vannostran in 2009.
