Nancy Kaye Garner-Rackley was born August 7th, 1955, in Oklahoma City. With peace in her heart and family at her side Nancy embraced her Savior in the early hours of April 25th, 2023.
Nancy is survived by her husband Gary Rackley; daughters, Kylie Garner and Kristen Martin; her Husband, Jimmy Martin; son, Ryan Garner and his wife Melody Garner; grandchildren, Menley, Macelyn and Jakob Martin; sisters, Viki Ryan and Linda Walton; and many other friends and family members.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Wentfred Hunter; as well as her first husband and father of her children, Ric Garner. Nancy and Ric were high school sweethearts who married on August 9, 1974. Ric and Nancy had a true love story that was filled with more than 40 years of happiness, joy, and fellowship. When Ric passed away on July 26th, 2014, Nancy’s life came to a halt and she, and many others, did not know how she was going to carry on without him. However, Nancy’s faith, determination, and love for her family kept her going and allowed her to still find a reason to smile every single day.
The final chapter of Nancy’s life was one filled with many hardships, but God saw fit to match her with another weary soul experiencing many of the same hardships. The two fell in love, and Nancy married Gary Rackley on December 30th 2017. Many go through life never finding someone to love them so wholeheartedly and unconditionally. Nancy was one of the lucky few who was able to find not just one, but two.
Nancy was the kind of person that could meet someone on a park bench, strike up a conversation, and carry-on being friends for years to come. Her warm smile and giver’s heart were beacons of light to anyone who had the great fortune of encountering her. Nancy devoted her life to advocating for children. Much of her career was spent looking after and ensuring the well-being of children with disabilities and championing the needs of less fortunate children. In her free time, she found joy ministering to children at her church, spending time with her family, friends, and pets, and settling in and reading a good book. Above all else, Nancy lived a life of service to others, and truly embodied Jesus’ teaching of “Love thy Neighbor as thyself.” She gave so much of herself to others and was always there to help those in need. Nancy was a servant of God sent to this world to help many along their path, and she will be missed beyond measure by all those who knew her.
Her family and friends are devastated by her loss but are comforted by God’s promise that they will see her again because she accepted Christ in her heart at a young age and lived a life devoted to Him.
A farewell ceremony will be hosted at Moore Funeral and Cremation on May 6th at 2pm. The address is: 400 SE 19th St, Moore Oklahoma, 73160
