Tribute

Michael Hunter DiPaolo, of Moore, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of Friday, September 30, 2022 after a lifelong battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He never let his condition hinder him from anything or keep him down. Michael Hunter was fiercely independent and always insisted on doing things on his own. Of course he had his loving family, including his wonderful siblings, who would help him if he really needed it. One of their favorite things to do was to go swimming together. He also loved to play soccer, as long as his dad was coaching the team. Michael Hunter enjoyed dinosaurs and superheros, with Spiderman being his all-time favorite. He was also very outdoorsy, and loved to go hunting and fishing. He loved his family and he loved Jesus. He often spoke with his family about his love for the Lord and it was his faith that guided him through his condition and helped him every step of the way.

Michael Hunter is survived by his loving parents, Joe and Elisha DiPaolo; siblings, Caleb DiPaolo, Katelynn DiPaolo, Gabriel DiPaolo, and Kimberly DiPaolo; paternal grandparents, Lockhart and Violet DiPaolo Sr; paternal uncle, Lockhart DiPaolo Jr; maternal uncles, Wayne (Rindy) Carpenter and Leslie (Angie) Chancellor; maternal aunts, Shirley (John) MacNaughton, Rita Lynd, and Emily Duck; his special Teacup Yorkie companion, Lucy; along with many many cousins, nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends.

Michael Hunter was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Murline Chancellor; paternal great grandparents, Gordon Reynolds and George DiPaolo Sr.; and his beloved therapy dog, Lily.

Friends and family will gather for a viewing at 3pm on Sunday, October 2, 2022 with a funeral service to follow at 4pm, all at Crossroads Church.

In honor of Michael Hunter, friends and family are encouraged to wear green, his favorite color.

In Michael Hunter’s own words: “This is not goodbye, it’s see you later”.
