Melvin Ray Harrison, Jr., 44, of Oklahoma City, unexpectedly passed from this life May 11, 2018. He was born January 21, 1974 in Oklahoma City to Melvin Ray Harrison, Sr. and Elizabeth “Kim” Murrow.

Melvin grew up in Oklahoma City and attended U.S. Grant High School. He met his soulmate, Sheri, in middle school in 1986. They began dating in 1990 and married on June 17, 1995. They were blessed with their first child, Kobe Harrison, on April 22, 1998. They were later blessed with a daughter, Kambry Harrison, on September 17, 2002.

Melvin’s greatest pride and joy was his family. His favorite hobbies were attending Club Volleyball competitions for Kambry and cheering on Kobe in Basketball. He loved being their biggest fan. His personal favorite sport was fast pitch softball, which he played for a number of years. He also enjoyed spending time at the lake with his family, riding jet skis and having cookouts. He loved his nephew, Blake, and always enjoyed spending time with him. Melvin worked as a mechanic for over 20 years and found a love for street car racing. He also liked watching the Oklahoma City Thunder and was an avid OU football fan. Melvin was a cruise enthusiast. He went on 4 cruises in 3 years and had another one booked for this coming September.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Ray Harrison, Sr.; and grandparents, Ed and Rita Harrison and Bracy and Patricia Murrow.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sheri Harrison, of the home; children, Kobe and Kambry Harrison, also of the home; parents, Kim Murrow of Lawton, Mitchell Harjo, and Fran Harrison; sisters, Julia Lynch of Frost, TX and Lynda Goombi of Fort Cobb; brother, Jason Harjo of Ft. Worth, TX; best friend whom Melvin loved like a brother, Mark Jones; nephews, Jimmie Prieto, and Isaiah, Gabriel, and Blake Harjo, and Anthony and Deluca Goombi; nieces, Andrea Prieto and Faith Goombi; he is also survived by a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Services for Melvin are 1:00p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Moore Funeral and Cremation Chapel, 400 SE 19th St. Moore, OK 73160. Interment will follow at Moore City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.MooreFuneralCremation.com.
