Maryann Teresa Gutierrez, 67 of Oklahoma City, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, October 16, 2017.


She was born in Detroit, MI to Leonard Grzymala and Dorothy (Gard) Grzymala.


As a child, Maryann lived for nine years with the Detroit Red Wings team physician, Dr. Ludwig, and his family. She became an avid hockey fan meeting many of the Detroit Red Wings players, including Gordie Howe. Maryann played hockey as a child and she loved rooting for the Detroit Red Wings.


Maryann married Dennis Gutierrez and remained by his side for 50 years of marriage. As an adult, Maryann and Dennis moved to Illinois and then to Oklahoma raising their three sons. She became an avid Bowler and loved working with children. She worked for O’Reilly Automotive Warehouse, Hobby Lobby, and truly enjoyed her time working at U.S. Grant High School in the Cafeteria serving children.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Dorothy Grzymala, her aunt, Stella Grzymala, uncles, Joe Gard and Clark Wolfe, and her uncle, William Grzymala, who was her father’s twin brother.


Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Dennis Gutierrez; sons, Dino Joseph Gutierrez, Dennis Anthony Gutierrez, and Joseph Anthony Gutierrez; brothers, William Edward Grzymala, Roland David Grzymala, Steven Anthony Grzymala, and Stanley Anthony Grzymala; sisters, Jean Dorothy Lawson, Patricia Ann Wade, Joann Joyce Norris, Lillian Joyce Taschetti, and Teresa Marie Kowalczyk; grandchildren, Kyleigh Addison Gutierrez, Jaden Dino Joseph Gutierrez, Zane Gutierrez, and Kenia Zoey Gutierrez; Greg Wolf, whom she treated like an adopted son; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, John Bereznak and Marilyn Majors, Michael Harman and Caroline Driscol, Jose Padron, Guadaloupe Gomez, Carlos and Luz Hernandez, and Octavio Hernandez.


Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 28th at 4:00 PM in the Chapel at Moore Funeral and Cremation, 400 SE 19th Street, Moore, OK 73160 with visitation from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
