Martha Lou Johnson passed away peacefully March 8, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was born May 7, 1944 to J.B. and Dorothy Idell in Moore, Oklahoma. She spent her entire life in Moore, graduating from Moore High School in 1963. She was employed as a Bus Driver for fifty years, forty-seven of those with Moore Public Schools. She retired in 2018. She was honored multiple times for Bus Driver of the Year and named Bus Driver of the state of Oklahoma. It was a great joy for her to ensure the safety of many children on Bus #35 throughout the years.
She married Bill Johnson on March 30, 1973. She enjoyed celebrating many joyous occasions in her life. Easter was a favorite holiday that always got the family together. She spent many hours (rain or shine) at the ball field watching her grandsons play. She was also an avid Duck Collector.
She is survived by her husband Bill of 49 years, a brother Steve Idell, and sister Debra Jackson. Children Mal, Chris, and Ashley. Grandchildren Brandone, Tyler, Jayden, Mattie, and Myah. Great-granddaughter Elaina. And many nieces, nephews, and friends.
We will celebrate Martha’s life at 2pm on Saturday, March 20, 2024 at Fresh Start Community Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Moore Funeral and Cremation.
