Mable Jones

September 29, 1936 ~ May 11, 2022 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Tribute

Maybell (Mable) Jones was born September 29, 1936, to Doc and Mary Herrington in Girard, Georgia. She was one of ten children and a graduate of Oakland High School, in Haines City, Florida. Mable married her high school sweetheart Earl Jones in February of 1960; she traveled the world with her husband as an Army wife and mother of two Cassandra and Earl Jr.  They settled in St. Robert, MO, outside of Ft. Leonard Wood, where Mable worked as the head cook and administrator for one of the food service facilities on the base, until her retirement. They relocated to Oklahoma City, OK to be closer to their son in 2020. Mable was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family and pets. She enjoyed bingo and playing slot machines in her retirement. 

Mable transitioned on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. She was proceeded in death by her children Cassandra Ann Jones and Earl Len Jones Jr., her granddaughter Whitney Michel’ Ude, her great-grandson Malaki Ude, her parents Doc and Mary Herrington, her brothers Joe, Frank, Jessie and Charlie Herrington and her sister Florence Gano. She is survived by her husband Earl Jones Sr., of Oklahoma City, OK, her daughter-in-law Toni Jones of Oklahoma City, her granddaughter Rene’ Bennett (Cory) and great-grandchildren Peyton, Cory Jr, and Trindon of Garland, TX, grandson Earl Jones III and great-grandson Vaelin, of Oklahoma City grandson-in-law Marcus Ude (Whitney) and great-grandchildren, Maleigha, Mariah and Malachi of Oklahoma City, sister Mary Alice Myers of Tampa, FL, brother Marion Herrington of Burlington, New Jersey and sister Mamie Frazier of Willingboro New Jersey, sisters-in-laws, Lois Herrington (Joe) of Haines City FL and Ora Lee Herrington (Charlie) Burlington, New Jersey, her in-laws Lenzie and Synester Jones of Jacksonville, FL  and a host of nieces, nephews and family members. She has joined her loved ones and reunited with her children whom she missed.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 10:30am with a visitation starting at 9am, both at Moore Funeral and Cremation. Interment will follow at Ft. Sill National Cemetery at 1pm. The Funeral Service at Moore Funeral and Cremation will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person.
