Linden (Lindy) Hyer Singleton, 89, of Moore, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at the Norman Veteran’s Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Moore Funeral and Cremation. He will be buried at the Marlow cemetery in Marlow, OK.
Lindy was born on April 5, 1927 in Oklahoma City, OK. He grew up in Edmond, OK. He met Loretta who was attending college at Central State. They married on July 11, 1946. Lindy worked and retired from Tinker Air Force Base. He also was a drummer in a jazz trio in the 50’s and 60’s. He loved to fish and hunt. He and Loretta spent their retirement years traveling. His grandchildren will tell you, he’s the best Grandpa on the planet.
Lindy was preceded in death by his parents, Hattie and Lorentz Singleton; sisters, Viola Whittaker and Margaret Singleton; brothers, Murland Singleton and Charles Singleton; his wife, Loretta Singleton; and his granddaughter, Yaniva Singleton.
Survivors include his daughter, Margretta Dye and husband David of Moore, OK; son, Shelly Singleton of Refugio, TX; grandson, Dezmond Dye of Watauga, TX; granddaughter, Stacy Inman and husband Jason of Pottsboro, TX; great granddaughters, Savannah Hill and Blakelyn Inman and great grandson, Devin Hill, all of Pottsboro, TX; brother-in-law, Bill Bateman and wife Lynn of Yukon, OK; and many loving nieces and nephews.
