Laura Burchett

On Friday February 18, 2022 while being held by her family, Laura Rene Burchett entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior at the age of 56. Laura was born on March 4, 1965 to Jim and Deloris “Dee Ball” Burchett in Norman Oklahoma. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1983 and continued her education at Oklahoma University where she graduated with a degree in Journalism. Laura worked various journalism positions and excelled at her love for words for several years until her health battles began. Laura fought for 29 years and conquered so many battles with a loving Mother by her side. She was an amazing cook and had a style for decorating and apparel that always set her apart from the status quo. She was passionate in her love for cats and would bring every stray home she could find. She was a loving daughter, sister and friend to many in her short years. Her stubborn stoic nature and her different drum beat style made a lasting impression on many. Laura was preceded in death by her father Jim, her grandparents Clyde and Lucille Hines and Toby and Anna Burchett. She is survived by her loving mother Dee Ball and brother Stewart Burchett. She will be missed by Stepfather Luverne Ball, Aunt’s Donna and Denise, Uncle Bill & Anna and Uncle Roger & Sara and many cousins and life-long friends.

Laura’s Celebration of Life will be held on her Birthday, March 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Moore Funeral and Cremation in Moore Oklahoma, 400 SE 19th St.
