Jim Baber

Jim Baber of Newcastle went to see his Heavenly Father on February 20, 2018.

He was born in Denver, CO on September 19, 1951 to Leo Fawn and Elmer Baber. He was the second born of eight children.

Jim was 2nd Class Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy. He did three tours in Vietnam. He served from July 1969 to July 1974 and then transferred to the Navy Reserve until January 1988. Jim attended O.S.U. and received a Master's Degree in Industrial Trade E.D.U. Jim taught Middle School Social Studies and Geography for the Norman Public Schools for 27 years. He loved his kids and made learning fun. He was a loving husband, dad, son, brother, friend, and a great teacher. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Baber; children, Skye Baber, Joshua Sparks, and Kira Copeland; mom, Lee Sumpter; seven siblings, Adrian, Rena Jo, Tim, Roy, Brit, Aaron, and Bruce.

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 10, 2018 at SouthPointe Church of the Nazarene, 400 S.W. 104th Street, Oklahoma City, OK.
