Keith Lee Thompson
October 26, 1942 ~ January 10, 2024 (age 81) 81 Years Old
Keith Thompson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, and cherished friend. Keith left this world on January 10, 2024, at the age of 81.
Born on October 26, 1942, Keith's life was marked by love, laughter, and a deep sense of family. After the loss of his dear wife of over 50 years, Cathey, in 2022, Keith was profoundly affected and missed her tremendously. On January 10, he made the decision to reunite with her.
Keith's journey included academic achievements, graduating from Lexington High School, and earning an accounting degree from the University of Oklahoma. In 1966, he proudly enlisted in the Army Reserves, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. But his greatest achievement, his loving family, was yet to come.
It was in Dallas, TX, where Keith's life took a beautiful turn. Walking into an unemployment office one day, he came face to face with the love of his life. Instantly recognizing their connection, Keith and Cathey knew they were destined to be together. They were married not long after that fateful encounter, and Keith's commitment to caring for his wife endured until the day she passed; leaving a shining example to his daughters, on how a wife should be cared for by her husband. The family resided in the same house they purchased in 1976, creating a home where neighbors became family. Cindi, who had lived there with him her whole life, will forever cherish the memories they made together.
Keith maintained strong connections with friends from his school days and early friendships with Cathey. Intelligent, with an unwavering work ethic, he was known for his exceptional organizational skills. However, above all, Keith was renowned for his humor and jovial spirit. His home was filled with laughter, and his ridiculousness was passed down to his daughters and grandchildren, ensuring that his spirit would live on in the joyous moments they share. Keith is survived by his devoted daughters, Kelli and Cindi Thompson, two grandchildren, Jay and Wade Boman, a sister-in-law, Marty Williams, and her daughter Laura Wright. Additionally, he is remembered by his niece Debbie Madaj and her family, and a multitude of friends and neighbors who were considered an extended family.
A visitation will be held for Keith at Moore Funeral and Cremation in Moore, Oklahoma on January 18th, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Keith will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Norman, Oklahoma on Friday, January 19th at 1:00 pm.
