Karen Sue Carter

Karen Sue Carter, 62, of Moore, passed from this life August 13, 2018. She was born December 12, 1955 in Oklahoma City to Joe and Mary Johnson (Schoemann). Karen grew up in Moore and graduated from Moore High School in 1974. She worked at Dean A. McGee Eye Institute for almost 20 years in Pre-Cert/Collections.
In August of 1977, Karen gave birth to a sleeping angel, Chad Dale. She was later blessed with another son, Chris Carter, on January 25, 1981. Chris married Ashley Jones in 2003 and they blessed Karen with 6 grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Karen loved spending time with family and being “Grandma” to her 6 grandchildren. She also loved traveling all over, but especially enjoyed taking trips to Missouri to visit Margie.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Johnson; son, Chad Dale; and brother, Phillip Glen.
Survivors include her son, Chris Carter and wife Ashley of Moore; Grandchildren, Riley Laine Carter, Peyton Evan Carter, Christopher Gibson Carter, Archer Reed Carter, Brennan Kade Carter, and Sutton Thomas Carter. She is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends.
Visitation for Karen is Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Services are 10:00am Friday, August 17, 2018 at Moore Funeral and Cremation Chapel, 400 SE 19th St. Moore, OK 73160. In lieu of flowers, Karen has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
