Joshua Halstead

February 5, 1986 ~ August 14, 2021 (age 35) 35 Years Old

Tribute

Joshua Caleb Halstead, a quiet, funny, and thoughtful person, went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2021. He was born to Phil and Phyllis Halstead, in Oklahoma City on February 5, 1986.

Josh accomplished a lot in his 35 years. In the Summer of 1996 he accepted Christ and has served the Lord ever since.
He graduated from Westmoore High school and received a Bachelor’s degree from Hillsdale College.

Josh loved sports. He played baseball and football in elementary and continued to play football throughout his high school years. He was an offensive & defensive lineman for the Westmoore Jaguars and was on the team that defeated the rivaled Moore Lions for the first time in 2002.
Josh met the love of his life, Jenifer Irvin, in high school. They married in 2008. Josh and Jenifer lived in Norman for many years until they built the home of their dreams in the country. Josh loved to cook, barbeque, and smoke meat. He has many grills, smokers, and all the other toys that are required when living on several acres in the country.

Josh was an avid hunter and took yearly trips to Colorado and New Mexico to hunt elk. He also often hunted duck and deer here in Oklahoma. Josh and Jenifer enjoyed many vacations together as Josh loved to travel. Their most recent trip was to Colorado and included their daughter, Addison. Josh was a devoted OU fan--you could always find him cheering on the Sooners in the Fall.

Before they married, he and Jenifer led a youth group for 3 years at Kingsview Baptist Church. They were very influential in the lives of many youth.

Josh worked at Silver Star Construction beginning in 2007 and worked his way up to Equipment Manager. He was influential in many areas of Silver Star, overseeing several teams. His most recent project was a new building that Silver Star plans to name after him.

More than anything, Josh loved his 2 girls, Jenifer and Addison. Addison became the apple of his eye last September 2nd. He looked forward to her arrival and was an excellent care giver and fearless diaper changer. She will be such a wonderful reminder of him, by her red hair, solemn stare, and the occasional ornery look.

Josh is survived by his wife, Jenifer, daughter, Addison, Mother and Father, Phil and Phyllis Halstead, sister, Amanda Halstead, niece Shelby Leite and many other family members that love him dearly.
