Jeanette Murphy

September 18, 1935 ~ December 23, 2019 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Tribute

Jeanette Murphy, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed quietly from this earth to her heavenly home on December 23, 2019. She will be dearly missed by her family and by many others who have been touched by her life.

She was a loving and devoted wife of 66 years to Joe Carl Murphy who survives her. They were married in 1953 and started a family in ’57. Her surviving children are James Michael Murphy, Jay Patrick Murphy with his wife Robin Iweta, and Jaretta Sue Murphy. She loved her grandchildren Amber Fowler and Christina Murphy. She shared a special closeness with her granddaughter Jessica Marie Deaton. She is also survived by her brother Ray Wyn Hannabass, her sister-in-law Carol Hannabass and five nephews, Robert Glen, William Mark, Stephen Dale, Dan Alan, and Charles Scott who are all sons of Carol and her deceased brother Robert Glen Hannabass. Other family members who have preceded her in death are her father Roy William Hannabass, her mother Glenna Mae Hannabass, her sister Willa Kay Hannabass, her brother Charles Dan Hannabass and daughter-in-law Catherine Michelle Murphy.

Jeanette loved her husband and her children more than life itself. She created a warm and happy home. Her strength was unmatched as she rose above many trials throughout her life. Her husband Joe was her pillar of strength and stability who supported her and provided for the family, but her faith also gave her strength in times of trouble and sorrow. Jeanette loved to go rv’ing, fishing, knitting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Now she is spending time with those who have gone before her. She is young again, walking, talking and laughing along with the saints and angels of heaven. She is waiting for those of us who are left behind. One day… we will see her again.

The family would like to express deep and heartfelt gratitude to South Park East and to all SPE staff. You have become family and we greatly appreciate how well you took care of mom, but also how well you cared for dad as he came and spent almost everyday sitting with mom, holding her hand and helping her in any way he could. We love and appreciate all that you do for those who cannot do for themselves. May God pour out His blessing upon each of you.
