On Thursday, January 18, 2024, James W. Clemons, a young man loved by many, passed away at the age of 34.
James was born on October 8, 1989, in Carthage, NY. Jim, as many of his close friends and family called him, was a man known for having a “big heart”. If you asked those who knew him well what he was like, they would describe him as a loyal, kind-hearted, funny, and friendly guy, who would give the shirt off his own back, if it meant helping someone in need. In high school, he attended Moore-Norman Technology Center, where he was certified in framing. James used those skills to help build a home for Habitat for Humanity. Jim held multiple jobs throughout his life, but the one he truly enjoyed and had a passion for was working on oil rigs and repairing engines. He said, “One of the best parts of working on oil rigs was helping Pops”, the father of one of his best friends. When Jim wasn’t working, he was gaming, something he has always had a passion for, and there were a few years when he spent time beta-testing various video games. Many people didn’t know, but when James was younger, he was a pretty good hunter and enjoyed spending time outdoors.
James is survived by his father, James Clemons, his mother, Kim Potter, and stepfather David Potter; his twin brother Scott Clemons; his brother Darin Clemons; his grandparents, Anna Clemons, Kay Pereira, Roger & Connie Underhill, Harry & Donna Potter; his great-grandparents Manuel & Edna Conas; his aunt and uncles, Chris & Michele Bright, Darcy Clemons, Roger Underhill, Christopher & Heidi Underhill, Donald & Anne Underhill, Paula Svoboda, Loretta Potter, Paul & Pam Potter, Alethea Trujillo; and numerous cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Moore Funeral & Cremation 400 SE 19th St, Moore, Oklahoma at 2:00 pm. There will be a viewing between the hours of noon and 4:00 pm.
