Irene Fay Suggs, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the age of 84. Irene was born on January 14, 1938 in Roswell, New Mexico to I.V. and Marian (Clark) Smith. She was quite crafty and loved to paint and sew. She was the most amazing cook and baker in the world. Irene loved everyone. She prayed over everyone and was very giving and hospitable to people. She tried to help everyone she could, even if that meant praying for them. She believed in God and believed in the power of prayer. Her family knows that it was her prayers that has even saved some of their lives. She was so generous and her entire life was built around caring for her children and family. Her two indulgences in life though were her love of chili dogs and watermelon. Irene was the most loving and caring daughter, sister, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and she will be truly missed by everyone.
Irene is survived by her husband of 6 years, Wayne Suggs; children, Denise (John) Story, Ron (Angel) Weaver, Jimmy (Conna) Weaver, Ruth Sims, John Weaver, and Timothy Weaver; stepchildren, Jinny Suggs, Robin Davis, and April Beck; siblings, Jean Helmer, Irvin Smith, Linda Broday, and Janice Sikes; grandchildren, Diane Prince, David Story, Rachel Rogers, Rebekah Ellsworth, Lindsay Elsea, Amber Hubbard, Nick Young, Michael Weaver, Christopher Sims, Nicholas Sims, Katrina Taylor, Adam Weaver, and Justin Weaver; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Irene was preceded in death by parents, I.V. and Marian (Clark) Smith; her husband of 49 years, Billy Weaver; daughter, Baby Girl Weaver; and stepson, Kenny Suggs.
