Hattie “Marie” Brooks has joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Marie has battled primary progressive aphasia for the last 8 years.

Marie is the first daughter of Charlie and Audie Owen. Born on October 31, 1944 in Allen, OK, went to grade school in Okmulgee, OK, and was a graduate of Del City High School.

Marie married her high school sweet heart, Samuel H. Hays III “Sam” and they had one son Charles Randal Hays “Randy”. Sam was killed in an automobile accident a few years later.

Marie married Bill Brooks in Nov. of 1990 and gained two step-daughters Kristie and Rebecca Brooks.

Marie retired after working at Tinker Air Force Base for 41 years.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Brooks; son, Randy and his wife Kathy Hays; two grandchildren, Sasha and Nick; stepdaughters, Kristie and Curtis Couch, Rebecca and Ben Brent; and three grandsons, Tylor, Mathew and Devan; her mother, Audie Marie Owen; sisters, Charolette and Ron Hilebrant, Karen and John Macek all living in the Tulsa area. Marie has a number of nieces, nephews and cousin.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 16th from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Moore Funeral and Cremation, 400 SE 19th Street, Moore, OK 73160 in the Chapel.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 16th at 1:00 PM at Moore Funeral and Cremation in the Chapel with Chaplain John Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City.
