Tribute

Frank L. Hudson 77, died September 18, 2019 at Autumn Leaves SW Memory Care in Oklahoma City. He was born October 22, 1941 in Globe, AZ to the late Rev. Leonard and Reba (Porter) Hudson.

He was in the Army from 1961-62 and later in the Reserves until he got a Medical Discharge in 1982 after a serious injury at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Frank graduated from Era High School (Texas) in 1959 and later completed Masters Degrees in Criminal Justice Administration at OCU and Computer Information Services at the University of Phoenix. He lacked just a few hours having a Bachelors Degree in Clinical Psychology at OU.

Frank married Ruth Ann Royal Hurt August 4, 1978. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years and his daughter Gina Tong (David) and granddaughters Lauren and Allison from The Woodlands Texas.

He was a policeman at Blackwell, OK and Warr Acres; then a Probation and Parole officer for the State of OK. He was the Supervisor of OR Bond Investigations when he retired from Oklahoma County in 1996. Meanwhile, he ran his own computer business for many years and retired from Seagate Technologies in 2000. He also taught computer classes as an adjunct professor at OCCC and OSU-OKC until 2000.

Frank was a licensed and (1989) ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and served as the Church Administrator at Faith Fellowship Church in the 1980’s-90’s under Pastor Ken Jagd. He helped supervise youth camps from 1986-1993 with Pastors John and Marietta Tardibono. He and Ruth also led two marriage groups; Nova Shalom and Born Again Marriages under the guidance of Louis and Carol Gordon.

Frank was a wonderful father and husband. He also helped families and marriages in crisis with love and Biblical principles. He was a kind-hearted, giving person who cared about the hurting and down-trodden.

Frank spent the last three months of his life in medical facilities in physical and mental pain. In spite of this, he managed to make others laugh or smile with his unique sense of humor. He was greatly helped by Tammy Newport and Joyce Harpole, his special caregivers.  Tammy spent many weeks going the extra mile to make sure Frank's life was happier and more comfortable.

A Memorial Service will be held with Military Honors on October 26th at 2:30 pm at Moore Funeral and Cremation, 400 SE 19th in Moore, OK, followed by a reception. Picture albums of Youth Camp will be on display.
