Ernest D. Crowley passed away at the Norman Veterans
Center on December 17th, 2021 at the age of 89 years and 11 months after a long courageous battle with Lewy Body
Dementia. Ernie was born on January 27th, 1932 in Blanchard, Oklahoma to Roy and Viola Crowley. He married the Love of His Life, Catherine Lavell Price on October 4th, 1957 in Ada, Oklahoma. Ernie graduated from Sweetwater High School and East Central College with a Bachelor’s Degree. He went on to teach science and woodworking in several districts including Webster Middle School in Oklahoma City. Ernie then went into School Administration where he was the Director of Building and Grounds at Western Heights. Ernie was also made Director of Custodial Services at Moore Public Schools where he
retired. In Iowa, Ernie played Minor League Baseball when he was drafted into the Army were he proudly served his country in the Korean War. Ernie afterwards continued to serve in the Army Reserves for many years. Ernie and Cathy were long time members of the First Baptist Church in Moore, and served in many areas over the years within the church. Ernie’s favorite things to do were watch OU football games, fishing, golf and a friendly game of poker. He also enjoyed playing bridge, and dominoes but what he loved most was his family. Ernie is
survived by his Son: Clyfton Crowley of Moore, Ok; Deann Crowley of Oklahoma City, Ok; Daughter: Michelle Breeden and husband Randal of Oklahoma City, Ok; Son: Rick Crowley of Moore, Ok; Renee Rodriguez of Oklahoma City, Ok.
Grandchildren: Casi Bowles and Clayton, Clayton Breeden,
and Morgan, Garrett Crowley, and Hunter Crowley.
Great-Grandchildren: Kyler, Kambryi, and Kynslee Bowles, and Gatlin, and Scout Breeden. Brother: Edward Crowley, and wife Mildred. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife Catherine Lavell Crowley on August 10th, 2018.
Ernie’s family would like to thank the staff at the Norman
Veterans Center especially Heather Aprn, Calli, Dalton, Carol, Sabrina, and many others he loved, and respected. Also,
Veterans Hospital (8 East) especially Justin, and Keith
and also the staff of Good Shepherd Hospice.
