Donna S Bratcher

Donna Sue Bratcher, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the age of 78 after a battle with cancer. Donna was born on October 19, 1943 in Salem, Illinois to Don and Johnnie (Moss) Smith. Donna was the most optimistic person you would ever meet. She wrote the book on having the attitude of the glass being half-full. Donna was blessed to meet and marry the absolute love of her life, Jim Bratcher. They were married on May 5, 1963 in Salem, Illinois. Together they shared 59 wonderful years of love and adventure. Donna and Jim especially enjoyed traveling in their RV for month-long trips during their life together and also enjoyed traveling with their family and camping club. In all their travel adventures, they were blessed to visit all 50 states. She loved to travel in the fall to see the foliage and loved the cooler weather. Donna loved to collect rocks and seashells from everywhere they visited. She wound up with quite the collection. Donna also loved to learn and enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. One of her biggest passions in life was her relationship with God and serving in her church. She truly believed in her faith, which is what helped to give her so much optimism in life. She trusted the Lord would always care for her and her family. Her family was her other big passion in life. She loved her husband dearly and loved raising their children and watching their grandchildren and great grandchild grow. She adored her family with everything she had. She was the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, and she is truly missed by all.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Jim Bratcher; children, Kevin (Sara) Bratcher and Greg Bratcher; grandchildren, Kayla Bratcher, Shelby (Connor) Uber, Maxwell Bratcher, Macy Sparks, Sam Bratcher, and Owen Bratcher; great grandchild, Kipling Bratcher; along with all of the extended Bratcher family, her church family, and many friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Johnnie (Moss) Smith.

Friends and family are invited to visit with Donna and share memories from 5-7pm on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Moore Funeral and Cremation. We will then celebrate Donna’s life at 10am on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at her church home, Southgate Pentecostal Holiness Church. Cremation will follow, with inurnment being planned for a later date.
