Waylon Leger

David “Waylon” Leger, 43, of Moore, passed from this life April 14, 2018. He was born February 19, 1975 in Oklahoma City.
Waylon grew up in the Norman area and graduated from Norman High School in 1994. He met the love of his life, Ladena Bute, in 8th grade and they married on June 15, 1996. After high school, Waylon went to a vocational school to pursue a career in auto paint and body work. After 5 years in the auto industry, he went on to pursue a career in the manufacturing of air conditioning units, most recently at Johnson Controls, where he worked for about 10 years.
Waylon and Ladena moved to Moore in 2001 and were blessed with their son, Jacob, in November of 2003. He loved anything that Jacob was involved in and will forever be proud of him. He coached on Jacob’s baseball and football teams and was actively involved in anything that Jacob wanted to do. Waylon also loved hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors. One of his favorite places to go hunting was on his grandpa’s property. He was a very creative person and also a great cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobbie and Steve Barris and his father, David Leger.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ladena, of the home; son, Jacob, also of the home; sister, Shai McPherson and husband Matt of Yukon; father-in-law, Steve Bute of Norman; sisters-in-law, Kimberly Bute of Norman and Chris Henderson and husband Eddie of Tuttle; niece, Brit Huffman of Norman; and he is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends.
Visitation for Waylon is 4:00pm-8:00pm, Wednesday, April 18th at Moore Funeral and Cremation, 400 SE 19th St. Moore, OK 73160. Services are 10:00am, Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Moore Funeral and Cremation. Condolences may be shared at www.MooreFuneralCremation.com.
