Cheri L. Osteen of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, loving wife and mother of one, passed away the afternoon of Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the age of 70 after battling an illness for 7 months.
Cheri was born on April 13th, 1949 in Kenton Ohio to Douglas and Helen Thompson. She was raised in Bellefontaine Ohio with two younger brothers and younger sister where she graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1967. She met the love of her life, Donald R. Osteen, at a baseball game who was stationed at a radar site nearby while serving in the Air Force. They wed on October 8th, 1967 and she gave birth to her one son, David L. Osteen August 17, 1968.
With her husband being in the military, Cheri lived all over the United States and Okinawa Japan getting to travel extensively to which she enjoyed and finally settling down in Oklahoma. Cheri had a long and distinguished career working for the Federal Government and retired in April of 2004 after serving 36 years.
Cheri enjoyed retirement and spending time with her two grandchildren. She also loved to make quilts, crocheted, needle point, knitting, baking and going to craft fairs. She also volunteered her time making quilts for charity.
Cheri is survived by her husband of 52 years of marriage Donald, a son David and wife Gwyn with two grandkids Zachary and Solae of Moore, Oklahoma, her mother Helen Thompson, Brothers Craig Thompson and family, Phil Thompson and family, Sister Connie Rose and family all of which reside in Bellefontaine Ohio.
