Tribute

Arthur Mirl Wilmoth passed away on February 1, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on February 18, 1935, to Eldridge Mirl Wilmoth and Ida Bell Wilmoth (Ramsey), Arthur's life was a testament to dedication, service, and love.

Arthur's journey began in Choctaw, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Choctaw High School. During his high school years, he excelled in both basketball and football and met the love of his life, Patricia. Following his graduation, Arthur enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country dutifully. Stationed at various locations including Ft. Sill, Ft. Bragg, and Germany, Arthur worked in the motorpool, specializing in tank maintenance. After completing his military service, Arthur pursued higher education at Central State in Edmond, Oklahoma. He earned his degree and embarked on a fulfilling career in education. Arthur's passion for teaching led him to become a math and science educator, a role he cherished deeply. He spent several years at Capitol Hill Junior High before joining Webster Middle School upon its opening, where he dedicated over three decades of his life shaping young minds. Beyond his career in education, Arthur and his beloved wife Pat selflessly opened their hearts and home to raise two of her nieces, a responsibility they took on with pride and honor. They also served as House Parents for the Oklahoma House of Representatives for 16 years, demonstrating their commitment to community and service. Throughout his life, Arthur's work ethic was unparalleled. He pursued various side jobs, including roles at TGNY, Albright Steel, and the Postal Service, in addition to selling boats at Sears. His determination to provide for his family knew no bounds. Tragically, Arthur endured the loss of his beloved wife, Pat, on December 30, 2023. Now reunited with her in eternal peace, Arthur leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication.

Arthur Mirl Wilmoth will be remembered for his warm heart, his unwavering commitment to family, and his steadfast friendship. He touched the lives of all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Arthur is survived by his children, David Wilmoth, Perry Wilmoth, Sam Wilmoth, and Patrick Wilmoth; five grandchildren; and several additional extended family members and friends.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge Mirl Wilmoth and Ida Bell Wilmoth; sister, Vernal (Perry) Crawford; aunt, Annie Wilmoth; and loving wife, Pat.
