Annette Mozell Moore

Annette Mozell Moore passed away in Oklahoma City after a series of lengthy illnesses on April 30, 2020.

Mozell was born to Tilman and Joyce Moore on March 3, 1958 in Harbor City, CA. She moved to Oklahoma in 1965 with her family, the youngest girl of seven siblings. Mozell graduated from Del City High School, attended the University of Oklahoma, and worked in the restaurant, bookkeeping, retail, banking, postal service, medical, and insurance claims businesses for 40 years.

She loved and was loved by Gary Ackley, her extended family and her many friends. Mozell left us too soon and will be with her parents and other family members who preceded her in death. We will miss her greatly. She was a beautiful lady with a happy approach to life, even after chronic illness hampered her activity and forced her into early retirement.

Mozell was a lover of cats, playing with children, reading, movies, the Cubs, opera, Ernest Tubb, ballet, and Sooner football. She was a devoted friend who was still in contact with people from grade school and all of her jobs, and never met a stranger. She lit up a room and was often the center of laughter and fun. Her quick comedic sense lightened many serious conversations. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. Mozell made sad people laugh, was the one to take you shopping because she wanted to see your tastes, would let you stay up late and watch scary movies with her... even if mom said no, and who always texted on your birthday. In short, Mozell was the kind of person you are better for having known.
