Alice Helton

Alice Sue Helton, 80, of Bethany, OK, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020. She was born on October 27, 1939, in Poteau, OK, to Tommy Dan Irvin and Viola Lee (Davidson) Irvin.

Alice grew up in Poteau, OK, and attended Poteau High School. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Aid. Alice started her career in various nursing homes in the early 1970’s until she retired in 2002.

Alice married her childhood sweetheart, J.R. Helton, in 1954 and soon after her family grew.
She loved spending time with her grandkids and playing Bingo. Alice woke up every day with a positive attitude and a great sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Dan Irvin and Viola Lee Irvin; husband, J.R. Helton; and her two sons, Stephen Dale Helton and Michael Dean Helton.

Alice is survived by her children, Patricia Blalack and husband, Donald, of Bethany, OK, Morris Helton and wife, Kris, of Yukon, OK, Bertha Pauline Tooman, of Bethany, OK, and Margaret Mellendorf and husband, Jack, of Oklahoma City, OK.

Also included in her loving family are 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Alice will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2020, at  Moore Funeral Home, 400 SE 19th St, Moore, OK, 73160
