Trévian Justice Towery left this world far too soon at the age of 20, on February 19, 2018. Tré was born October 28, 1997 in Oklahoma City to Tony and Ginger Towery. He grew up in Moore, Oklahoma, attended Moore High School and Westmoore High School, and graduated as a Westmoore Jaguar in the class of 2016.
Tré loved football, and began playing tackle football under the tutelage of his father and his Uncle Derek when he was five years old. In high school, Tré started in 21 varsity games as a defensive lineman. In his senior season, Tré was named the Oklahoma 6A1-A Defensive Lineman of the Year, and named to the 6A1-A All District Roster. In 2015- 2016, Tré was named Defensive Lineman Oklahoma All Star and received All State honorable mention honors, and was named to the first team All City Football Roster. In 2015, Tré was named to the Class 6A1-A Preseason All-Class Team. In 2014, Tré was named to the second team All City Football Roster. According to the Daily Oklahoman, “The Jaguar nose guard had to be accounted for at all times by opposing offenses, yet he still managed 62 tackles as a senior.”
Tré received two full college football scholarships, first from Lamar University in Houston, Texas and then from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.
Tré had an affinity for fashion from the time he was old enough to play dress-up in his Pop’s clothing. He always enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his brothers and his cousins. Tré also enjoyed lifting weights, playing basketball, and hunting.
Tré was adored by all who knew him, and was especially adored by children. He was often described by his family as a “Gentle Giant”. Tré’s gentle demeanor and humble kindness made him a joy to be around. Tré loved his family most of all, and was a momma’s boy, and will always be her baby.
Trévian is survived by his mother, Ginger Towery of Moore, his father, Tony Towery and Loreen Lecinski of Edmond; brothers, Tyler McCoy of Moore and Donovan Towery of Edmond; grandparents, Lequeta “Nana” and Gary “Pop” Chance of Moore and Claudia Towery of Mangum; Uncle Derek and Aunt Jennifer Chance of Oklahoma City; cousins, Taylor and Gage Chance of Oklahoma City; great aunts, Myrna Sims and Harold of Houston, Texas, Carolyn Vaughan and Floyd of Skiatook, and Dorothy O’Neal of Mangum; great uncle, Max Chance of Oklahoma City; and special friends Shauna Hughes, Cody Hughes, and DeShawn Lookout.
Tré was preceded in death by great grandparents, Robbie and Frank Smith, James Earl and Nightred “Nadine” Wallace, Roy Elton and Thelma Chance; and great aunts Muriel McDougle and Helen Chance.
Tré will be forever missed by his family, friends and by all who knew and loved him. Tre’s legacy of love and humble kindness will continue to live on through his family and friends.
