Rhonda Lynne Dowis

November 18, 1964 ~ October 27, 2017 (age 52)

Rhonda L. Dowis, 52, of Oklahoma City, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 27, 2017, in Oklahoma City.

She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 18, 1964 to Wilmer (Bill) P. Dowis, and the late Jaunita W. Dowis. She was the youngest of 2 children. She had an older brother, Ronald L. Dowis. She lived in Omaha until her dad took a job with General Motors and moved the family to Oklahoma City, where she resided until death.

Rhonda had many jobs, but was mostly in the medical profession. She was a Respiratory Assistant for over 10 years. She was a caregiver who spent her time helping her family. A nurturing and passionate soul who put herself last to put others first. She was the heart of the family. She did it all and held everything together so gracefully.

Her children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of Rhonda’s kind spirit, passion for family, love for others, and zest for life will live on through them. She planted a seed that will grow forever.

She was selfless and had a heart of gold. She showered her children and grandchildren with unconditional love. Everyone who grew to know her was touched by her in some way. She made lasting impressions that will last a lifetime. She had these eyes, so breathtakingly beautiful. They changed colors from hazel to green. Her beautiful smile was infectious. She had a personable and warm personality and would befriend anyone.

She is survived by her daughter, Natalie Kelley; her daughter and son in law, Aleshia and Lorenzo Maldonado; her son, Andrew Galura; 3 grandchildren, Adriana, Adian, and Lillian Maldonado; father, Wilmer (Bill) P. Dowis; her long-time partner, Raleigh Allen; 2 nephews, Christopher and Kristy Dowis, and Justin Dowis; and many more family and friends.

Rhonda is preceded in death by her mother, Jaunita W. Dowis; her brother, Ronald L. Dowis; her grandparents, Goodwin and Mary Dowis, Arthur and Stella Walker.

Rhonda will remain with us forever, as nothing can ever take away the love and memories we hold dear. Although our hearts ache, we know she found peace while we wait to be together again.
