Mary Frances Houdmann, 77, of Oklahoma City, passed from this life February 4, 2018. She was born December 5, 1940 in Colony, OK to Jake and Lois “Lavelle” Hornbeck (Glenn).

Mary grew up in Gotebo, OK but graduated from Grant High School in Oklahoma City. She married Victor “Leon” Houdmann on June 21, 1958 in Texas. The couple split their time between their “Okie” and “Texan” families. During their 41 years of marriage, they were blessed with 4 children. Mary spent her days raising their children and taking care of the home, while Leon was a sales professional, attending trade shows and selling home décor items. Mary would sometimes travel with him and assist with the trade shows.

Mary spent the last years of Leon’s life caring for him before he passed from Leukemia in 2000. She moved back to Oklahoma City at that time to be with family and her church. She was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church and a virtuous woman devoted to her faith. She enjoyed church activities, gardening, and reading. Her best friends were Susie and Marty and she loved being around them.

In more recent years, Mary began to struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. This was a difficult thing for Mary and her family, but she remained strong-willed and never lost her sweet spirit. She was a quiet woman with the deepest of love for her family and cherished the group of people that personally knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Lavelle Hornbeck; loving husband of 41 years, Leon Houdmann; son, Lyndon Houdmann; brother, Harley Hornbeck; and sister, Nadina Hankins; brothers-in-law, Joe Tedder and Ralph Hankins.

Survivors include her daughter Michelle Houdmann and wife Amy of Rowlett, TX; son, Chris Houdmann and wife Janie of Helotes, TX; son, Brent Houdmann and wife Suzanne of Falls City, TX; grandchildren, Leah Pearson and husband Chris of San Antonio, TX, Garrett Houdmann and wife Christen of Helotes, TX, Kyle Houdmann and wife Nycole of New Braunfels, TX, Nathan Houdmann and wife Codee of Oklahoma City, Ryan Houdmann and wife Stacey of Moore, and Cody Houdmann of San Marcos, TX; great-grandchildren, Logan, Carlee, and Hailey; sister, Susie Tedder of Oklahoma City; and sister-in-law, Marty Mallet.

Visitation for Mary is 4:00pm to 8:00pm, with family present from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Moore Funeral and Cremation.
