Lavetta Peden of Norman, OK was born October 29, 1923 in Corbett, OK to Willie Blevens and Alice Bivens Blevens. She passed from this life October 29, 2017.
Lavetta worked for the Federal Reserve Bank for 26 years before retiring from there. She went on to work at LaPetite child care center for 6 years in the baby room. Lavetta also spent 20 years of her life riding school bus #66 for Norman Public Schools assisting with special needs children.
She was a member of Alameda Church of Christ and loved her church and church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, IT Peden; sister, Myrlee Nonast; and brother, Virgil Blevens.
Survivors include her brother, Richard Blevens and Evelyn of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Billy Joe Blevens and Hazel of Noble, OK; sister, Shirley Wilson of Belle Plaine, IA; step-son, Leon Peden; step-grandchildren, Steve Peden, Kerri Long, Karla Meade; Lavetta loved all of her nieces and nephews dearly and grew very close to Paula Sue Franklin, who became more like a daughter to her over the years; she is also survived by 5 step- great-grandchildren and a host of loving extended family and friends.
Visitation for Lavetta will be Monday, October 9, 2017 from 9:00AM to 12:00PM at Moore Funeral and Cremation Chapel, 400 SE 19th St. Moore, OK 73160. Services for Lavetta will also be Monday at 2:00PM at Alameda Church of Christ in Norman.
