Kenneth Lee “Slim” Irwin passed while resting in his home surrounded by his loving family Saturday, November 11, 2017.
Slim was born in Depew, Oklahoma August 10, 1931 to the late Jennings Irwin and Dovie (Renfro) Irwin.
Slim married the love of his life, Audrey Lou Centers October 7, 1951.
He was a Welder by trade working for BS&B for over 20 years and Cameron & Demco Iron Works for 20+ years before retiring. Slim loved fishing with his family, and enjoyed gardening and working outside, especially wood working. He loved life and all his kids, grand kids, and great-grand kids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jennings and Dovie Irwin, grandchildren, Melissa, Daniel, and Allen, and his sister, Dora Dean Dobson.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Audrey Irwin; daughter, Shirley L. Thompson of Oklahoma City; son, Michael Lee Irwin and wife Carla of Greenwood, Arkansas; daughter, Cynthia Lynn Brewton and husband Tim of Wellston, Oklahoma; daughter, Karen D. Jones and husband Howard of Norman; and daughter, Mary A. Moore and husband Darryl of Norman; sisters, Aline McComb and Faye Holliday; grandchildren, Adrienne, Cara, Tyler, Carrie, Chelsea, Howard “Trey”, Matthew, Jonathan, and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Timmy, Ryan, Joey, Alex, Andrew, Wyatt, Marshall, Shane, Emalee, Alicia, Averie, Trevor, Elizabeth, Kenziee, Koen, Kasen, and Jackson, long-time friends, Pete Parrick and Helen Henshaw.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 14th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral and Cremation, 400 SE 19th Street, Moore, OK 73160.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 15th at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Moore Funeral and Cremation with Brother Kenneth Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Moore City Cemetery, Moore, OK.
