Janis Frederick (“Mimi”), 78, of Moore, Oklahoma, formerly of Dallas Texas, died peacefully at her home on April 10, 2017, surrounded by her family. Born in Ennis, Texas, she is predeceased by her stepfather and mother W.D. and Hazele Worthley, father Dale Fisher, grandparents Fletcher and Alice Payne.

Janis graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas, and married Stanley Frederick shortly thereafter. In early married years, Janis was a homemaker, eventually raising 4 children. As such, she and others took great pride in her cooking skills. Oftentimes, her loved ones would hold others’ cooking up to the “Mimi” gold standard and pronounce the food either “Mimi good,” or “Mimi’s is better.” Janis was also an accomplished seamstress, making elaborate Halloween costumes, school clothes, and both daughters’ wedding dresses. In later years, Janis worked as a cafeteria manager at Northmoor Elementary School. She continued her role as Miss Janis, caring for all the children and staff who came through the cafeteria.

Janis is survived by her loving husband Stanley, daughter Cindy, daughter Sherry and son-in-law Eddie, son John and daughter-in-law Ester, son Jason and daughter-in-law Kerri--7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services held Wednesday, April 12, at 1:00 p.m. in First Christian Church, Moore, Oklahoma, followed by burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
