James Harold Henson, 65 of Moore, passed peacefully Tuesday, February 20, 2018.


He was born in Altus, Oklahoma to Jackie (Holcomb) Henson and the late Robert Henson.


James was a devoted teacher and father. He taught science for many years at Highland West Junior High School. James was a US Navy Veteran who loved sharing his stories about flying a P-3 Orion. He was a member of Empowered Church in Mustang, OK. He enjoyed gardening, photography, baking, especially making pumpkin jelly, and was a Jack-of-all-trades for his family.


In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by his younger sister, Barbara Ann Lane.


Left to cherish his memory are his son, Justin Henson of Moore; his daughters, Jami Henson of Oklahoma City and Jenny Henson of Moore; mother, Jackie Henson; brother, Robert Henson; sisters, Ruth Wentz and Sue Henson; family pet, Ruffus.


Family has requested donations be made in memory of James directly to Empowered Church, 601 E. Hwy 152, Mustang, OK 73064.
