She was born on January 26, 1918 in Prescott, Arkansas. The daughter of Willis and Rittie (Riggs) Murphy.

A celebration of Evelyn's life will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Moore Funeral and Cremation, 400 SE 19th Street, Moore, OK.
