Daniel “Danny” Vallejo, 85, was the firstborn son of Maria and Don Blas Vallejo on December 1st, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. From childhood, Danny was always known for his heart of gold and expressed his devotion to others by serving the community as a paper delivery boy, and a school crossing guard. Eventually, at 19 years of age, Danny joined the U.S. Navy and continued to faithfully serve the good of others from 1951 to 1954. Even after his service in the Navy was over, Danny found a passion for servitude in the church; always waking early to joyfully greet the morning churchgoers.

Danny, or “Papa”, was known to his friends and family as a committed man of Christ and a dependable family man to his two daughters, Danna and Lisa Vallejo, and his only grandchild, Brittany Richardson. His relatives remain as his three brothers, Frank, David, and Richard Henry Blas Vallejo, and his three sisters, Angela, Aurora “Ruby”, and Rosie.   Josephine Jimenez, the only surviving Jimenez; his numerous nieces and nephews across the country. Papa always supported and guided his family when they needed him, and his friends could often say the same.

On Wednesday, May 31st, 2017, Danny peacefully passed with his youngest daughter at his side in Moore, Oklahoma at the Featherstone Assisted Living Community. He enjoyed a long life with his family, and friends, both related and those of the Church, and notably professed his hopes of meeting Jesus in Heaven. Today, at this service, we honor him and celebrate his long life. As friends and family, we know Danny has finally met Jesus and is happily prospering beyond the gates of Heaven.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 8th at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Moore Funeral and Cremation, 400 SE 19th Street, Moore, OK 73160 with Pastor Rick Myers officiating. U.S. Navy will render military honors at the funeral home. Final place of rest will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
