Charles Ray Blankenship, Jr. “Charlie” was born June 17, 1953 in Ft. Bliss, El Paso, Texas to Charles Ray Blankenship, Sr. and Beverly Ann Piper Blankenship. He passed from this life December 31, 2017 at his home in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years, 6 months, and 14 days.
He was a hard worker that spent his time off gardening in his vegetable garden, making homemade salsa, jalapeno peppers and jarring pickles. He also enjoyed building stuff, artsy crafts, watching his OU Sooners football team, listening to Jethro Tull and his favorite flute player. The family had 3 dogs, but his dog was “Stewie” the Chihuahua.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ray Blankenship, Sr., a brother Alan Blankenship and a sister, Susie Schondel. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathleen Uht Blankenship; a son, Russell Blankenship and daughter Lindsay Rae Tucci; a brother Jeffrey Blankenship, and 2 sisters, Nancy Farris and Donna Gilles. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Sicily Jane Blankenship, David Charles Blankenship, Jeffrey Alan Blankenship and Rewdan Tucci and Kyler Tucci.
A memorial Ceremony for Charlie will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the chapel of Moore Funeral and Cremation with funeral celebrant Harold Branstetter officiating.
