Barbara Jean (Metling) Brensdal, 82 of Del City, OK passed peacefully with her family by her side Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Grace Living Center in Del City.

Barbara was born January 26, 1935 in Menomonie, WI to the late Eunice N. (Karns) Metling and Clarence G. Metling.

She was married to Earl Curtis Brensdal in Menomonie, WI October 10, 1958 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Barbara moved with her family to Oklahoma and joined St. John’s Lutheran Church in 1972. She served her family as a Homemaker, enjoyed crocheting, and loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She served her church faithfully, and she was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Earl Curtis Brensdal, who passed in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her first son, Daniel Earl Brensdal, Godson, Michael Hansen, brother, Billy Metling, brothers-in-law, Dick Hansen and Gene Mars, and sister-in-law, Irene Eddie.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Russell Brensdal, Gena Brensdal, Curtis Brensdal, and Tyra Brensdal – Butler (Travis Butler); sister, Pat Hansen; grandchildren, Kristy Brensdal, Brittany Brensdal, Amanda Brensdal, Madison Butler, and Sabrina Butler; great-grandchildren, Brianna Ferguson, Camryana Alexander and Maria Alexander; and nephew, Scott Hansen.

Visitation will be Friday, July 7th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral and Cremation, 400 SE 19th Street, Moore, OK 73160.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8th at 11:00 AM at Moore Funeral and Cremation in the Chapel with Rev. Mark Bersche officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Norman.
