Julia Ann Murphy, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on April 4th, 2024, at the age of 96. Julia was born on January 13th, 1928, in Carbondale, Oklahoma, to Wesley and Malvina Moody.
Julia was a woman of strength, resilience, and boundless love. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Eber Fred Murphy, her son Steven Fredrick Murphy, her sisters Doris Rowden and Patricia Culwell, her brother Richard Moody, and her grandson Commander Michael Murphy Jr. USN.
Julia is survived by her children Virginia Pate, Michael Murphy (Petra), and Charles Murphy (Angelina). She was the cherished grandmother of 17 grandchildren, and her legacy extends through numerous great-grandchildren, as well as one great-great-grandchild.
Throughout her life, Julia worked diligently and passionately at various jobs, but she found particular fulfillment as an aircraft mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base. Her dedication and expertise earned her respect and admiration from colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Julia was a woman of many talents and passions. She had a green thumb and found solace and joy in tending to her garden. Art held a special place in her heart, and she expressed her creativity through various mediums, with a particular fondness for painting porcelain dolls.
Julia's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.
